  • Cooking has never been my favorite thing to do, despite the fact that I am a girl and that is supposedly my calling in life.  But every once in awhile, I get strangely possessed to wield a spoon in the kitchen, and try my hand at perfecting the culinary art.

But despite all my good intentions when it comes down to cooking, I have an ever recurring problem. I burn things. Always. Oh, there are those few times that I have successfully made something without the tell-tale scorched appearance and that disheartening odor that attests to another failure permeating to the corners of the house. But for the majority, it always happens. Somehow or other, it always burns.

And so, my question of the moment is...will the chicken I have in the oven withstand the pull of my kitchen mistakes and come out as it should? We have yet to see.

  • I hope your chicken turned out just fine!  It's sad that I won't get to go through staff training with you, it would be a lot of fun to do camp together another year!  I am so excited for you!  It is going to be awesome!  Miss you too!

  • Sounds like you're an OT cook :)

  • I can make a mean piece of french toast.  I miss you too!

  • Kel, I know exactly how you feel about burning food! I have the same exact problem. But good news! I made dinner last night and hey! - I didn't burn anything, nothing was cold, and it all got done about the same time! lol - let's see me do THAT again!

  • Just a thought, expressed by an observation: you just posted (e.g., sat at the computer, which isn't in the kitchen) while food was cooking.  Sounds like a "recipe" for culinaricide, if you ask me.

(hey - it would be if I did it; I can't even push my toast back down again with getting distracting and turning it into charcoal)

  •  Maybe chicken is the problem.

  • Well when you were out here at the camp you never burned anything..... O .... that's right you were always just putting the food out or doing the silverware! lol Was my Dad smart or what? I am sure that the chicken will turn out great.

  • Kel, don't worry, from what I understand...it takes a few years to master the art of not brning stuff. You'll get it and be a great cook=D

  • hmmm... lol, sounds like you are totally just like me. ;) I have the exact s-a-m-e problem....

  • girl you are amazing.

  • Friend, can I say that you are one of the biggest blessings in my life.  I love you so much.

  • I MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY!!!!  Is it too l8 2 call u??

  • Oh, wow, that's funny! Ok, well not really these back problems are no good.  So, have you gone to the doctor or chiropractor to have it looked at? I've never been to a chiro and I hate going to the doctor. But I'm afraid if I don't do something it's going to get worse. We're to young for this! Oh, and hey have you gotten anything in the mail from LA? Like about support and stuff? I've been waiting on something for like the past two weeks. Anyway, I'm sorry everytime I leave a comment it's like a mile long, gosh! I promise I really don't talk this much! Ha, ok well have a nice day! Ttys!
